This a memory of a dream about a long-deceased loved one, but he looked nothing like himself and you can't recall what he told you. Did you ever understand his message?

Autumn is here and the Block Island season has officially come to an end. Buildings that were recently bustling with visitors and workers are now emptied save for stacks of furniture and leftover booze, locked away for the winter. The narrow roads which were brimming with out-of-practice bicyclists, poorly guided mopeds, and carefree pedestrians once again belong to the few locals who venture out to breath the crisp ocean breeze they no longer share with the island's guests. The thousands of footprints along the sands have disappeared, washed away as if herds if buzzed vacationers amplified by bluetooth speakers, primed with tanning oils never existed.

Even the workers are on their way back to the mainland, the summer a fading memory. They venture forth with earnings and stories about their experience, tales which warp with every telling, which lose grounding the further they travel from the salty air of their origins. When the workers and tourists return, if they ever return, the island will be familiar but never the same again. New comrades and different menu items are a promise the island keeps every season, as are grueling work and reward, but even the night sky will never look the same as it did the year prior, no matter how visible these changes appear to the naked eye.

This album captures the essence of a story retold by new orators, details morphing with every telling. Each producer lends their aesthetic and finesse to the project. From the underground hip-hop legend Blockhead's bouncy yet eerie 'Gimme What I Need" to art rap veteran and label owner Unsung's minimalist, unnerving take on the album's title track, "Dreamery," track after track delivers a curious new perspective on Headtrip and Burns' summer concept record. Once these songs were collected, Headtrip carefully curated and blended the offerings, while Burns masterfully smoothed the pieces together.
